To all immediate and extended family members, please accept my condolences at this very sad time. I’m thinking of you all and wish I could be there.
Hey Uncle Baz, I’m really sorry to have to be writing this today but sadly there comes a time when we have to say goodbye.
Firstly I would like to thank you for moving your family into my neighbourhood all those years ago. That was when my life changed. I met my best friend Shelley at the age of 8, who today I still call my sister. You all welcomed me into your family as one of your own and Shell and I attended primary school together. If she wasn’t at my house, I was at yours.
We always had a lot of fun but I’m sure you must’ve gotten sick of our antics at times. We were always up to something and it’s probably best that you never knew the half of it.
One of the things that I remember you most for was your wicked sense of humour and infectious laugh. You were a funny bugger and you passed that onto all of your kids. I’ve always had a good laugh with all of them.
I loved the nights we would come and watch you play in the band. You looked like a natural up there playing your guitar. To us you were a rockstar.
I remember one day Shelley and I decided to cook your lunch. We made a fry up of sausages and chips. Well, they were horrendous but you didn’t complain “much” about it. Not to us anyway. Just ate it like a champ giving us that look that we understood so well while you did . You must’ve been really hungry.
Thank you for the memories and for bringing your family into mine. I will be forever grateful to you.
Oh , and please be sure to give Spike a pat from me.
RIP Uncle Barry. Until we meet again. Love Sue Gamston. (You know, the one with the hair).Sorry we can’t be there.

I have great memories of watching Baz play in the band with my dad at the Eureka pub.
Absolutely loved those nights as a kid not really realising until later how good of a country style singer my uncle was. I can still hear him singing my favourite song from those nights ‘Honky Tonk Angel’. Such great memories and still so vivid. My condolences to all Uncle Baz family.
